What areas are served?

We are licensed to serve in California. We serve San Diego and all nearby cities in the county. We also serve San Clemente and Telecula in north, up to Apline in east and San Ysidro, Otey Mesa in south.

How do I get started?

You can call us at (858) 800-2272 or send a message from "Contact us" page. The Director of Client Care team will setup a free in-home consultation to learn more about the Client's need and craft a personalized care plan. We will review the plan with Client and their family, provide them access to the family portal and get started with the care within 48 hrs in most cases (or on the planned date).

How does the in-Home free consultation work? As a client's family, are we able to get involved in that initial client evaluation?

At Acorn Home Care, our Director of Client Care meets with each client and their family during an in-home consultation. This visit helps us understand personal needs, preferences, and home settings so we can design a care plan tailored to short and long-term goals. Our flexible, well-structured plans ensure consistent support while fostering safety, comfort, and independence at home. Each plan is flexible, built around recurring schedules, and supported with reliable backup. Every client is assigned both a primary and secondary Care Professional, providing families with reassurance and peace of mind.

How soon can I start receiving care after the initial consultation?

Post in-home consultation, you get a dedicated Care Team assigned. You can be onboarded in our system the same day and In most cases, we can start offering the personalized care within 48 hours of the consultation. For 24/7 care, we can start within 24 hours. We can also plan future date to start the care as per client's need.

Are caregivers at Acorn Home Care certified and experienced?

Yes, all our caregivers are thoroughly screened, background checked, certified, and have extensive experience in providing compassionate care to seniors. All Caregivers get initial and annual training to stay compliant and stay aligned to Acorn's values. Each caregiver carry their empoyee badge for identification and a valid photo ID as well.

What if I need changes to my service?

You may adjust your schedule or services at any time with a simple phone call to (858) 800-2272 or by using our family portal.

What form of payments are accepted for in-home care services?

We accept private pay (Credit, Debit, Check, ACH etc). We also accept Long-term care insurance, VA Aid & Attendance and VA CCN. Call us at (858) 800-2272 to learn more.

 

What are your privacy practices?

Acorn Home Care adheres strictly to all federal and state HIPAA regulations. Client confidentiality is emphasized in our policies, employee handbook, and staff training.

What if I change my mind about receiving service?

You are never locked into a long-term contract. Services can be discontinued at any time with 48 hours notice. 

Is your home care agency insured?

Yes, Acorn Home Care is fully insured and bonded, offering families peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in the care of a reputable and protected Arizona home care agency. We also have workers comp covering our caregivers.

How do you hire the caregivers and what is their onboarding process?

At Acorn Home Care, we have an extensive screening process for home caregivers, including phone/video and in-person interviews, valid driving license,  criminal background checks, and pre-employment drug screenings, in which they must test negative for tuberculosis. During orientation and training, our caregivers are provided with written policies and procedures to ensure compliance and high-quality care as well as detailed walk-through of our values and core beliefs.
